Wireless Problesm with E6400 and Dell 1397 WLAN Mini-card
Hi all!
I'm having a problem with connecting to a wireless network using the 1397 card. My problem is a little different, I have no problems connecting to a WAP with admin privileges, but if I'm logged on as a user or a local non-administrative account, I can't connect at all.
As a regular user, I use the Dell WLAN utility I can see WAP, I enter the WPA password, and I click connect. As soon as I do this the window closes and no connection is made.
Logged on as an administrator I do not have this issue.
I have updated to the newest driver, per the support page. I have given users full access to the Dell folder containing the WLAN utility, as well as the .SYS file for the driver. Not sure what else to do here, is there another third party wireless utility anyone could suggest?
I also can not user WZC, we have an Air Force group policy which forbids it from being started.
Specs:
E6400, Windows XP SP3
Wireless Driver: Broadcom, Ver. 5.60.189.1
Thanks for any help you can provide!
Jonathan
