Cooling

I have been having a problem with my new-ish desktop that was handed over from my friend. I’ve noticed that the CPU cooling fan is a bit louder than need be even at normal temperatures (30-45c) and its generally running at 100%

I checked the BIOS to see if I could change the fan speed by a bit, but theres only an option for Fan Control Override and that option seems to not do anything. Speed fan doesnt seem to detect my fans so what do I do? I’ve cleaned the PC of any dust and re applied thermal paste.

I have a DELL Optiplex 9010 MT

I7 2600 3.9GHz

GTX 1650 low profile

16 GB DDR3

1TB SATA SSD

    9010 doesnt have speedfan sensors.

Fan override forces the fan ON 2500RPM and its VERY LOUD.

There is nothing you can do.

There are no bios cooling settings.

as long as you let Dell bios control the cpu fan speed, not much you can do to override it. You can however replace stock fan with a quieter one.  It is possible that your Dell fan is running at normal speed (not 100%) during idle but to you it is a bit louder than normal.  If the fan is really at 100% constantly it would sound like a jet engine taking off.  Unless your report is an understatement I assume your fan is a bit loud and noisy but not extremely loud.
