Optiplex 7010 Corrupt BIOS Issue

Greetings Dell fans.
My beloved computer is out of action. When powered it only loads the Dell splash screen and then black screen. Pressing F2 or F12 does nothing. I have been trying to manually flash bios but unsuccessful with extracting the HDR and ROM files from official DELL .exe file.
I would like to ask for help and advice on repair the likely corrupt bios.

  1. If successful with putting files on USB, which button to press during power on?

  2. Any recommended steps for getting the ROM file?

  3. Once the HDR and ROM file are loaded on a FAT32/FAT16 formatted USB, is the only thing to power on with USB while pressing the required buttons?
The HDDs are all unplugged. No CMOS battery is inserted.

  4. if anyone can already extract the needed files on my behalf for loading on usb it would be greatly appreciated.
Can try to supply any other info needed.

try replace cmos batt w a brand new cr2032 then clear cmos settings via mobo CLR CMOS jumper.  do not try reflash bios to rescue a corrupted cmos

It is the RTCRST jumper which stands for real time clock reset. the same as clear cmos.

@redxps630 have tried to clear cmos via mobo clr cmos jumper instructions, still no success. so originally what happened was that messed with the uefi/secure boot settings and since then the desktop only shows dell splash screen then briefly shows the page saying hard drive not found, press f2, time and date not set up etc. then it goes to black screen like no post. do you think there is any likelihood to save this mobo?

Upon reviewing #3 in the first post - It is not recommended to flash or update BIOS without a CMOS battery installed.  I agree with redxps - attempting to correct corrupted BIOS with new, flashing, or reflashing BIOS on a 7010 (previous model) isn't going to work.

So did you try a new size 2032 battery?
