Adding ODD to Precision 5820 Tower
I purchased a new Precision 5820 Tower and didn't realize it did not have a slim DVD drive installed (only a cover over the place for one). I called Dell to order one, and they did not have a part number...they even told me I had to buy an external DVD drive, because an internal one was not available! Does anyone know what part number I need so I can order it?

Thank you for your quick reply, however that (7MM6C) is the wrong DVD drive. What I need is the slim DVD and NOT with Blueray. Why is it that I could order a new 5820 tower with the correct slim optical drive, but nobody with Dell can give me the part number?

That's because tcexperts specifically requested the drive not have blue ray in the post before yours.

@DELL-Cares Hello, I'm trying to install a slim line dvd into a Dell T5820 but when I try to slid the dvd drive in there are tangs on the left side of the bracket preventing the drive from sliding in.
