BIOS Updates Dell Precision 3630 2.4.2
Hi, I've recently updated some 100 Precision 3630 PC's with Precision_3630_2.4.2.exe. Problem is I can't find the specs on this update anymore. What I can find is BIOS 1.5.0 The date on this is newer but when I try to install the logs tell me I can't downgrade. What is with this versioning and why can't I find anything for 2.4.2 anymore?

I am having the same issue, and have noticed a different BIOS update file (2.5.0) pushed to Command Update but fails to install. The "new BIOS file" is unable to read the chipset manifest data as well when scanning the current BIOS version.

Same problem. (BIOS Package 2.5.0)
BIOS Update via Exe package under Win 10 1909 -> fail
BIOS Update with USB and file on USB through Update BIOS after Reboot -> fail
PC was bought 1week ago, and deliverd yesterday (03/26). Other Update went smooth. BIOS says its 2.3.1, so update should not be a downgrade - or is my math konwledge so bad?
(Well, maybe its USA/Dell specific math...)

Same issue here, I have BIOS 2.3.1, yet the latest available is "1.5.0". I've tried the Windows application for BIOS update, and placing the BIOS_IMG.RCV file on a USB drive formatted as FAT32 and flashing it at the F12 menu - neither method works. I'm working with Dell to get a solution to this. A new motherboard was suggested, but why replace hardware that's working fine? No way I'm doing that. If I have any solutions to this problem, I'll post them here.

Thanks! It makes me wonder how their QA process works, because that previous BIOS version should never have made it onto their site. From talks with Dell Customer Support, they're still suggesting a motherboard swap, unbelievable. A perfectly fine piece of hardware, scrapped, because their firmware versioning is incorrect.

I got this answer from the Dell Nordic Suppor and it worked to upgrade BIOS 2.4.2 to 2.5.0
"You could also try simply flashing the BIOS in from USB via the F12 boot menu. There should be a "BIOS Flash" option there, but then I think you should simply copy the BIOS update exe file to the stick."

Started today upgrading machines from 2.4.2 to 2.5.0
10 machines so far no problem !

New update will not work, there seems to be a severe lack of quality assurance with updates for this model.
