I have a Dell Precision 5820 with an Intel Core i9 14 Core (i9-10940X) 3.30 GHz. I was under the impression that the max ram for this system was 256GB.
I have installed 8 sticks of Micron MTA36ASF4G72PZ-2G6E1 902 32GB PC4-2666V RDIMM into the machine but it does not seem to like it. I get three beeps then two amber lights followed by 5 white lights. Which indicates that the ram is not supported.
I though that you could use ECC ram with the i9 processor.
I was wondering if someone could help me figure out if there is a setting that needs changed or if I am just SOL.

Try DDR4 UDIMM memory. Core-X processor does not like ECC memory.
See compatible memory at Crucial https://www.crucial.com/compatible-upgrade-for/dell/precision-5820-(intel-core-models)
