I want to use a p3000 with my m6700 that also has ACPI bsod problem just like the m6800. I can use the ES P3000 vbios, however this bios is not suitable as it limits the card to 40w 1250Mhz, I have another vbios that can go up to 75w 1800Mhz in Linux without the ACPI problem.

I tried adding the header from P4000 ES to my P3000 "high power" vbios however I still get ACPI bsod. How did you add/modify the header for your custom P5200 vbios to not get the error ? Thanks.

@JadeRover​ If you send me a link to your current BIOS I should be able to correct the header for you based off my BIOS, no promises though. It's been several years since I've worked on pascal era bioses and I also do not have all the bioses and reverse engineering that originally got mine to work flawlessly. You will need to use a hardware flasher to flash the BIOS if you aren't already, NVFlash won't work. You'll also need to use NVCleanInstall to install drivers after, stock drivers won't detect the GPU correctly.

This zip that contains :

- My "high clocked" 100w bios that I moddified to use 100w. I had to remove the header section or else it would not boot, bad checksum is my guess -> Needs to be flashed with 1.8v programmer

- The original "high clocked" vbios limited to 75w, stock from a dell card with the original header section preserved. -> Can be flashed with nvflashk directly from the laptop.

I tested both version on my precision 7720 and the card was recognized and working up to it's max TDP both times.

I am curious, what corrections do you apply to the header ?

I also found someone, user "JEAMN", who attempted to fix the ACPI tables from their m6800 so that any pascal card will work regardless of compatible vbios or not.

@JadeRover​ I so happen to still get emails from this thread, no problem. Do you have switchable graphics disabled? If so, that might be why the other BIOS is failing to boot, just a hunch. Try doing a CMOS reset when you install the card with the modded BIOS, and see if the behavior changes. As far as the checksum, that matters when using NVFlash and why I mentioned it. It shouldn't affect a valid BIOS flashed directly to the chip.

I have the IPS Premier Color display so my m6700 is running eDP only, meaning only the dGPU can drive the screen, the iGPU is disabled by the bios with no option to turn on switchable graphics.

For the checksum, I flashed my 100w vbios with the header and I got black screen as dGPU wouldn't turn on and it is the only way to get a display on the screen.

I then flashed my 100w vbios with no header, the dell logo appeared and I could go in the bios no problem and boot to linux, however booting to windows gave ACPI bsod.

I think that placing a ACPI compatible header on the "High Clock" vbios should work right ?

I looked at the header section, it's different than all the headers of the engineering sample vbios, nice. 

What kind of custom changes did you do? 

Thanks for sharing. What drivers version did you use for Windows 10 Pro 64 bit? I updated my card as well and was able to get into Windows fine. I am now unable to find the proper driver for the P4000 mobile card. I go to nVidia's site and download the proper driver, but I am receiving the message that no compatible hardware was found. And on some of the ones I have tried it says that it is not intended for this version of Windows along with it.

If someone can help me find the suitable and possibly updated driver I will be most grateful. And/or if there is an updated ROM?

How did you disable ACPI? I cant find it in the BIOS. I also put in a new Quadro P4000 and I cant even boot off my flash drive to install windows because it keeps blue screening on me with "ACPI_BIOS_ERROR" as the stop code. I can get into BIOS, I can run the ePSA Dell system assessment (everything passes fine so long as dedicated graphics isn't selected), I can even navigate through potential boot options but that blue screen keeps crashing my machine before I can get windows installed.
