HDTV on 2300MP?
I am trying to get my 2300MP setup.
My main problem is that the HDTV channels are displaying the same way they do on my TV that does not support HD.
In other words, HD channels are projected as smaller than their non-HD versions. The non-HD channels look better than the HD ones.
This is what happens on my old TV when I try to watch an HD channel (the TV is not an HDTV). The picture is displayed, but there is a black border around the entire picture (not just top and bottom). So if the diag length of your TV screen is 40", on HD channels it is probably 30" or so.
This is the same thing I am experiencing when trying to view an HD channel on my 2300MP.
I tried plugging it in via the video cable (I have also heard this called the component cable, or an RCA cable). I also tried using the RGB to VGA cable that came with the unit. Both had the same result.
Is this the expected result for watching HDTV? When it says "Compatibility: HDTV: 1080i, 720p, 576p, 576i" I was expecting it to look better than if I were watching on my old standard TV on the HD channels.
Any help or ideas?
