SA, latest version not working

I downloaded the latest version of SA (Support Assist) (Version 2) a few days ago. When I try to open it, it tries to load but won't load properly (icon just continues to flash and flash), with a message that optimization tools are loading.

The same problem occurs when I try to open it as administrator. There is no option to repair this app when I go to Settings. The only 2 options are "modify" or "uninstall"

This new version of Support Assist is installed on both my XPS 8930.

Is any body else having a problem with this latest version? Any advice would be greatly appreciated

We do have the same error every day when checking reliability monitor on a XPS 8930:

Background Task Host not working anymore - with a "MoAppCrash"

    Package: DellInc.DellSupportAssistforPCs_3.0.0.0_x64__htrsf667h5kn2

    or sometimes

    Dell SupportAssist with a POFContentAppCrash

    Package: DellInc.DellSupportAssistforPCs_3.0.0.0_x64__htrsf667h5kn2

Is there any help around from DELL staff?

The last few days the problem with the Support Assist failures disappeared all of a sudden.

The reliability monitor showed no "MOAppCrash" or "POFContentAppCrash" anymore.

It's interesting that this problem has solved alone without any update on my own since

I made the last post ;-). I just wanted to inform you.

    Regards. Chris

SupportAssist stopped working on my Alienware 17 R3  and XPS 15 after the latest update. I suspect it was caused by the SupportAssist Update Plugin. I uninstalled SupportAssist, then manually reinstalled using the SupportAssist Installer from the link below. It works fine now.

Same here. Support assist stopped working suddently after the update (it was working fine from several months) on my Dell xps 9370 on windows 10 pro

When I click on the icon it won't start and don't send any message or warning.

I tried to un install the software. I then performed a fresh install. It worked one time just after the setup, I was 1ble to update my drivers but after a restart it stopped to launch as previously.

    Any ideas?

It seems that there are problems with the new version.

I had a Dell tech in to repair my laptop and he suggested uninstalling Support Assist, and reinstalling again from the Dell website.

After doing this, I still have the same problem with the reliability monitor showing a POFCContextAppCrash.

For the time being, I have just disabled Dell Support Assist and will run it as and when I need to, until Dell comes up with a solution.

After the latest Windows update, I also have a problem with Dell Data Vault Collector, with multiple messages that Dell Data Vault Collector Service has stopped working.  I have disabled this too.

Hope that Dell fixes the problem soon!
