EMC set up our dmx1000 arrays a few years ago and they also installed ECC. While running sollutions enabler commands it seems like the command execution is too slow. I noticed that none of our AIX hosts had any gatekeepers. It looks like the ECC server was set up for gatekeepers but not any other hosts.
I would like to add gatekeeper devices to the AIX hosts to see if symconfigure commands will run faster. I'll map some small 3MB devices to the hosts, then mask and then run symgate define dev 004 etc. I may even take some of the gatekeepers that were set up for the ECC server as most of our config is done with SE rather than ECC.
Does this sound ok?
