Hello,

I finally have IT Assistant up and running properly (I think) and I want to setup some alert functionality.  I initially tried to use the sendmail.vbs script as suggested in the /bin directory, however it returns an error.  I uncommented all the debug lines and it gets to where it's actually going to send the message and then errors (without a description).

We already have another sendmail-type application installed on the system that we use to send us daily disk usage reports.  I can successfully use this from the command-line.  I added it to a few alerts to see what would happen.  The alerts I added it to were:

• Power system redundancy detected
• Power system degraded detected
• Power system failure
• Chassis intrusion detected

I then went and removed one of the power supplies from a PowerEdge 4600 we have.  It seems to have two power inputs in the back but four actual power supplies.  I'm not sure since I wasn't around when they ordered the hardware and I've only dealt with two inputs for two supplies.  Regardless, the status indicator on the server went orange.  I came back and looked to see if it activated the alert, but it didn't appear to have.  It DID show that server as cautionary (yellow triangle icon) and I could drill down and see that in fact PSU 4 had an issue.

I also then decided maybe I should run something that I think should just plain out WORK.  So I put the path to calc.exe in there and repeated the same thing.  Still nothing.  I don't know if I'm not tripping the alert or if it's just not running the command.  It appears it's not doing either...

Is there a list anywhere with a definitive description for each alert title?  I would imaging I'm tripping the "Power system degraded detected" alert when I remove the power supply..  Or would this only happen when only the last supply is in the system?  To be honest I don't really want to remove 3/4 PSU's just to test it :)

Can anyone give some advise on possible solutions?
