I have another 2 months subscription left on my McAfee Security Center Virus Scan/Firewall.  But went ahead and installed a new McAfee virus scan one year subscription.  Now, my enabled red M periodically turns black while online. Sometimes it doesn't, but often does after a while. (this does not seem to be connected to updates, which Im getting very frequently now) (I have dsl).  When I see it's black I click to "enable" it but it won't enable.  I have to restart for it to enable.  So far, I haven't gotten satisfactory answers from McAfee....they tell me how to right click and enable etc. which I have already told them I've tried.  I will again try to communicate w/McAfee for answers, but wondered if anyone knows what the problem "might" be.    I suspect it has something to do with the double virus scan programs overlapping...I thought that installing the new would just extend my subscription with no problem, but this didn't start until I installed the new one. Any ideas before I again contact McAfee.
