Hi, is compression / deduplication on BE Storage (Unity 450F) supported with VPLEX Metro. I didn't found any information about this. In VPLEX release Notes I found support for Thin Luns ####################### System volumes such as metadata and logging volumes are supported on thin devices. However, VPLEX relies on these volumes for system operations. All extents should be pre-allocated, to prevent out-of-space conditions. ######################## and in the support Matrix I found ########################### Starting from VPLEX 6.0 SP1 P4 (VS2/VS6) Unity, VNX, XtremIO, XtremIO X2 and VMAX arrays Thin volumes and VAAI UNMAP support was added. Operating system ESXi 5.5 and later is required. This allows thin volumes for VPLEX Local and Metro, distributed, and mirrored volumes ########################### but nothing about compression / deduplication. Thanks.
Hi, thanks. but the document has no information when using with VPLEX I have a VPLEX Metro and a Unity 450f on both sides. I want to create a DV. Can I use deduplication and compression on the LUN of the BE system? Is this supported on the VPLEX DV? Thanks.
