Disable windows messenger on start up

Dimensuin 9200

Viiv dual core e6400

(2.13 Ghz,1066Mhz)

Hard drive 500 gb

memory 2048 mb

windows XP media center 2005

works 8

----------------------------------------------------------

I have tried to stop windows messenger from loading at start up.

msconfig startup disable, did not work

windows defender startup disable,did not work

win optimizer 4 startup disable,did not work

Its not in add/remove so cannot delete it can anyone please help.

PS the dimension 2350 I had was the best computer I have ever had

riders, Did the link solve your problem? This is my first computer.I have had it for 4or 5 years and never had to reinstall.Very reliable to say the least.

Yes thanks it does not load on startup now but is there if needed.

The 2350 was my first new computer never had any trouble with

it unlike this thing I have now.
