When choosing any user logon wiht my Dell Inspiron E1705 notebook, I get error 0x80040507, and am prompted to use installation CD to reinstall or repair windows. I didn't recieve this disc with my notebook. I also found that I have the option of hitting alt/f11 at dell splash screen to start system recovery, but nothing happens, the screen just prompts to boot windows normally or in various safe modes, then am back to choosing a user and then the error 0x80040507 again!

Any suggestions other than contacting dell to get a restore cd?
