Many problems while browsing

I have spent hours searching for a clue, but decided I have to post this question. I don't even know where to start so I am just going to rattle off the symtoms, all of these problems happen at the same time. When clicking anywhere in text or on a webpage, email etc., some or all of the text will highlight, when using scroll buttons or bar all text will highlight, using the scroll on the mouse will not scroll page, but will activate the Back and Fwd. buttons, Types in all caps in email and fields, Makes clicking sounds in background often (the sound it makes when clicking a button or tab), Makes chime sounds in background (like when a download completes). I think that some of the sounds are caused by my popup blocker, but it always clicks even when offline. Sometimes tells me that webpage is unavail.. offline even when comp. is just sitting idle. Usually after all of this IE will suddenly close, sometimes with a warning and sometimes not. I am using netzero isp, I still have my account with msn server and the problems still exist when using that too. I have already tried syst. restore, and run sfc/scannow, and repaired windows. I downloaded and ran both spybot and adaware. nothing has helped. The weird part is that it is not consistent. Sometimes it will act up about 2 min. after I get online, and then IE closes, so I restart comp. get back online and it wont do it for hours.  I just bought this from Dell 2 month ago. Dim. 4600, Intel 4, 2.4GHz, Win. XP home w/sp1a, 256MB @333Mhz, 40GB HD, 56k PCI data fax. Yes I'm using dial up netzero "hispeed". Sorry for blabing but this is VERY annoying and shouldnt be happening. Thank you for your time, MOKID72

Use these to remove Malware (Spyware and Adware).
    Spybot S&D
    Ad-Aware
    Cwshredder
With all of these download them, install (after unzip if required), download the latest signature/update file, run, delete all that they find.

Failing those solving your problems a post of a hijackthis log for the experts to advise.
    HijackThis From Here
Download, run, scan, save log, then in notepad copy the FULL log by copy and paste to a post in one of these specialist spyware removal forums:-
    http://tomcoyote.org/forums/index.php
    http://forums.spywareinfo.com/index.php
    http://www.net-integration.net/cgi-bin/forum/ikonboard.cgi
    http://boards.cexx.org/index.php
DO NOT FIX ANYTHING WITH HIJACKTHIS WITHOUT EXPERT ADVICE, most of what it finds you need for normal MS Windows tasks.
Do read the sites FAQ before posting, and advise your problem and what steps you have already done to try to cure your problem.

I am in all those sites as ChrisRLG. You might get me, but any of the more problematic ones are handled by the experts. If you get a 'advanced member' like me, we have other ways of asking for advice from the experts, to pass on to you.

You could post your log here in this thread (if in the Virus Information and Removal Board - if not post in that board not in this thread), and I will have a go at giving advice, but if you go to one of the more specalist forums more experts will be able to help.

Yes you are right they did,

However they did not state that they had updated them prior to running (they may have) or that they had rebooted before using each, also they would then be able to go on with the rest of my post to hopefully solving thier problem.

Thanks for the reply! I just downloaded the spybot and adaware before my first post so I am assuming that they are updated. Am I right? I just downloaded the CWshredder and it checked out OK. I have re-booted and run them several times. Well, so far tonight nothing weird has happened luckily! I will download Hijackthis just in case I need it.  I do have a question about spybot though, if I may. How do I "safely ignore" the backup files that are found by adaware, and is this nessesary? I hope you know how appreciative that myself and i'm sure many others are of your time and help. I'll keep ya posted, Thanks, MOKID72

    Hi mokid72,

No when you get spybot or ad-aware they do not include the latest virus tables, you need to update them as soon as installed, follow the link below to my site and in the malware section you will find a link to a tutorial for spybot.

Hijackthis is a manual tool for experts to use (or others under expert advice) both hijackthis and cwshredder need to be redownloaded each time you need to use them, if over a few weeks old. They are constantly being rewritten to cope with the ever changing spyware problem.

The saved files by ad-aware and spybot can be ignored unless you have a problem with a program that will not run that you have. Some free programs will not work without the aditional support of the added extras that are known as malware. You then have to make a choice to live with the popup ads etc or remove the 'free' progam.

I always delete all that ad-aware and Spybot find.
