Why is it that I cannot remove the Camedia Master software when I use Contol Panel/Remove software feature? I plan to reinstall it after it is removed since it currently is corrupted. Should I just remove the program from my program file? Since I'm going to reinstall it, do I have to worry about registry?

Thanks for the response. I had already tried that without success. When I try to load the program from the CD, the software asks me if I want to remove selected applications and all its components. If I say yes it runs install shield wizard and then hangs up. If I say no it hangs up. If I try to run the program that is already in my program folder I get the following message. "No effective serial number is registered. Please uninstall once & try again".
Think I should go to program folder and just delete the contaminated Camedia Master program? I'm concerned about screwing up the registry.
I agree with Fredha. I add that for some applications the install program is also the remove program. If you run the install program and the application is already installed, it will ask you if you want to remove the program. In such cases, no further removal needs to be done.
I don't think removing your application's folders will do anything to the registry. I am assuming that you don't have the application linked in any way to the pc startup. You can run msconfig/startup tab as one check on that.
I have deleted folders as you are proposing. Doing so is at your risk. Ditto for editing the registry which is not for the uninformed. Items left in the registry with no application are just taking up space. If you delete the file folders, you could then try running your install program to see what comes up. If you can do a clean re-install and uninstall so much the better.
Poorly written applications often leave stuff in the registry when you uninstall anyway so it's not a big deal if there are a few orphans. There are freeware progs around for cleaning up the registry, again not for the uninformed.
