ReINstallation & Reformat - Can I Save the Drivers ?
I need to start fresh with my hard drive. ( It was filled to capacity. )
I have backed up all my files and plan to reformat the drive, or if not necessary, reinstall WinXP Pro.
Can I somehow save my drivers to my external backup hard drive, and then just copy them after I reinstall WinXP Pro?
Or will I need to reload them from my original Disk.
BTW, it's an older Dell XPS T550 system. But I do have the original disks.
Thanks for your help.
Tim

- simpswr,That's good news.It may save me some additoinal work.Maybe I'll try my luck with that, if not, I can always go back and download the drivers like Denny has suggested.But.... I wonder if the driver's I download from Dell will be a little more Tweaked, or Dell specific ?How about it Denny? Will the generic drivers on the WinXP do OK, or should I still use the Dell supplied drivers?I'll tell you the biggest PAI, is having to go back and forth, back and forth, downloading Updates from Microsoft. You have to load some of them, then reboot, load some more... and reboot.... many....many.... times. Thanks again for your help everyone.Tim

If I were you, I'd download the latest drivers through the "Technical Support" link above the forum and save them to CD. With a system of that age there are probably several drivers newer than the ones that came on your original CD.
