Mine works on all my systems. I have heard that people have that issue though. Im not sure what the cause might be other than some active "process" that is interrupting the screensaver timer.

I have both. Where do I go to get the updates?

Dell download site might have them, if you got them from Dell. As a test you could disconnect the wireless device from the PC and see if that helps the screensaver issue.

If I send the system to sleep or hibernate mode, upon resume the screensaver and sleep function work fine. If I reboot and just work normally the thing won’t come on. So it DOES work but only when coming out of sleep. If that is the case it makes no matter what software is running minimized it works fine.

 

Users that have the Microsoft Wireless Laser Keyboard 6000 and/or the Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 6000 have been experiencing issues for the past few months with their screen saver failing to turn on as well as any power saving features.  The problem was linked to the new 3.0 version receiver shipping with the new 6000 series mouse and keyboards and the media center components. 

Microsoft has finally released an update for these users so that they can use screensavers once again in Vista.  Follow theses steps to get the update for your computer:

1. Click on the Start Button and type in Windows update, Click Check for updates.
2. Locate the optional "Other hardware - HID - Non-User Input Data Filter" update and install it.
3. After the update is installed your screensaver and power saving functions will be fixed.
