I have a Dell XPS desktop PC with a Dell USB wireless mouse, running Windows 10. The receiver for the mouse is inserted in one of the four USB3 ports on the rear of the PC.

When I insert a USB3 memory stick in one of the front USB slots, the mouse stops working.  When I "eject" the stick, mouse operation resumes.

I encountered this problem when copying files to a USB stick I use to update the navigation software and music on my automobile.

How can I figure out what's happening, and more importantly, how can I get the mouse to work in this situation?
