Here's a suggestion to try - taken from this Microsoft Technet forums thread on the subject:

1: Open up "Control Panel" and navigate your way to "Programs and Features".

2: Click "View installed updates" on the left hand side.

3: Find the update KB929777 and uninstall it.

4: Attempt to install the update again in Windows Update

5: Once successful, restart your PC.

I have found the update which needs to be uninstalled but when i tried to do this it said an error occurred and it failed to uninstall? Any ideas?

Please follow these instructions and see if you can get updates. Please wait for at least 3 minutes because sometimes you need to install ActiveX to get the updates to install.
