XPS 17 battery/power/fan/overheating

I have owned this laptop for less than a year. The battery has been replaced twice and the motherboard once. The fan runs loud and all the time (even when not using the machine). The laptop gets hot to the touch (even when not using it). The power drains even when plugged in. You cannot use any external device without the power cord being plugged in. Now the laptop will not even turn on with the power cord plugged in.  Anyone else have these issues?

What exact model XPS 17? If the battery can be removed, remove it and try to use the adapter alone. Newer computers can run without the battery which make the laptop a desktop replacement. This won't work if the adapter has failed too. Or if the computer has another failure.
