Hi
Is there anybody using GIMP succesfully on VDI Desktops with vworkspace?
I have installed it, but it every time crashes after a few minutes working with it.

many thanks for the all the support.
its not a vworkspace problem, because we tested on a normal virtual machine on hyper-v without any quest software installed in it, and yes, it crashes also there.

Hi Marc,
I've tried to use it but no success. Instead of Gimp we are now using Paint.NET. It has less features but enough for our users.

Is this as a Seamless app or does it also crash when run in a full desktop ?

I also installed paint.net and this works fine. But some users need more features and we don't like the Adobe Licensing :-)

What OS are you running in your VDI?
Have you tried it on your master template before installing vworkspace pntools. Eg, is it vWorkspace it doesn't like or is it running on a VM that it doesn't like?

Now we tested the following situation.
it will crash when i connected via rdp to the master template
it will crash wehn i connected via rdp to the hyper-v server and open the master template with the hyper-v console
i will test it in future on a vmware machine and a machine without pntools...

we had a similar problem like this with "Mathematica" , worked fine on VMWare master direct but via vW7.6 it would crash
however since updating from 7.6 to 8.0 / 8.01 ...this issue seem to have resolve itself ??
