Aurora-R5, interrupted BIOS update, no boot
The title says it all - My Aurora R5 was in mid-update and the power at my condo went out for ~ 5 seconds (I was in the living room enjoying my cup of coffee) and behold, now my tower won't even boot.
Here are some more information on the current status:
- I get no "beep" warnings
- The monitor gets power up for a bit when I try to boot the system. However, the external mouse and keyboard (set up through USB plug-ins) are not responsive at all
- I've tried downloading BIOS crv directly onto a usb key, but with the keyboard being unresponsive I can't seem to make the system recognize / attempt to run this off of a usb either.
- I believe my R5 does not have in-house BIOS recovery system since it's a bit of an older model (close to 3 years now I think?)
- The alienware logo at the front is AMBER when it tries to power up. The fan and the main power starts up for about a second and it shuts off.
- I've tried resetting CMOS according to: https://www.dell.com/support/manuals/ca/en/cabsdt1/alienware-aurora-r5-desktop/alienware-aurora-r5-sm/clearing-cmos-settings?guid=guid-cb74f9e6-d57b-4d87-bd2b-92d47f957049&lang=en-us but the issue still persists
- I've read in other forums that taking out the MOBO battery (after draining the power out of it) and disconnecting & reconnecting MOBO power source can also re-boot the MOBO. Still no success here
Any other issues have / are experiencing the similar issue? I've also heard turning the power off during BIOS is a BIG no no and I'm beginning to see why..
Any help will be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Assuming you have tried the steps in the following link, it is possible that the only recourse you have may be to replace the motherboard. When you pulled the CMOS battery on the motherboard, did you leave it out for at least 15 minutes? One good reason that for desktops a UPS is almost a must have.
