15 R4, Windows 11 and Bios updates

Hello,

I am hoping to resolve what appears to be an AGE OLD issue of the display not switching back on after the laptop has gone to sleep. One part of a solution I found was to update the BIOS.

While I could see there is an update available, Dell does not include Windows 11 as a supported OS! I was somewhat staggered. Will Dell be supporting Windows 11 for Alienware devices such as mine?

I am not sure if I am risking all by updating the BIOS. Perhaps I should not have upgraded to Windows 11

Any advice?

Thank you.

Steve

Hi @Steve-WR welcome to this free user to user Alienware laptop discussion forum.

Please note contents of Alienware laptops supported by Dell for Windows 11 - Dell Community.  Alienware 15 R4 laptop is not included within Dell approved list. Once you install Windows 11 on a non-approved model, the only support you would receive from Dell would be to run the pre-Windows ePSA hardware diagnostics.

Hibernation which automatically starts after a set time of Sleep would cause this. Change the settings in Advanced Power Options. A brief press of the power button is required to wake the computer from Hibernation.
