In March 2017 I bought the Dell Alienware 17 R4 with the UHD 3840x2160 LCD panel. I used it very, very rarely. Let's say 1 hour per week on average. Only if I need a powerful machine. I need а laptop, not desktop, because sometimes I have to bring it with myself. So, I've invested in this expensive top product of Dell company and after 4 years the LCD is gone. The purchased 3 year warranty expired March 2020.

And now it's totally black. I can't imagine how expensive the repair will be. But this is not my biggest concern. I'm sure that after few years it will be gone again. And then? Is this from the LCD panel or just connections?
