Alienware 17/R2 - Freeze on BIOS Update
Hello everyone
I recently did a bios update from version A09 to A10
It froze during the update process and started to run the fans are max. I waited for a few hours and there was no progress. I was unable to do a forced shutdown as the power button was also unresponsive so I unplugged the power adapter and allowed the battery to deplete.
Once the system was drained, I charged it back up and noticed on powering it back up the keyboard will light up but there would be nothing on the display
Same problem as in this post
I've tried pressing the power button for 30 secs but there was no response.
When I reset the CMOS with a jumper on powering up the system I get 5 beeps. According to the beep codes this means it's something to do with the CMOS battery and this can be rectified by pressing the power button while having the function key held down, which is supposed to launch the Dell ePSA diagnostics. However this does not launch. The computer still boots up the same way, with a blank screen. There is no Alienware logo screen that will allow me to use a flash drive boot option. Is there anything else I can try out or do I have to get my motherboard replaced?
Please help. Thanks in advance.

Hi @PJubee,
Before replacing the mobo, you can try replacing the CMOS battery.
