I would suggest you to open SR with EMC. This maybe required agresive GC tasks ...

I have opened a SR with EMC. Until then is there anything that I should be looking for or documentation that will help me logging this issue in the future so it doesn't happen again?

Aggressive GC is not the solution here (or really much of anywhere these days -- aggressive GC was mainly an Avamar 4.x thing). This system is suffering from high OS capacity and running garbage collection would make this problem worse, not better. This will definitely require a service request.

This type of issue generally occurs only when the system has been failing hfscheck for some time. This condition should never occur during normal operation.

Thanks. Then again normal operations don't require a SR or Forum support.

It's the things that just don't work right that requires all of us to be here.
