from my existing fs size 2.9 TB i want to resize it to 1.5 (in same data is of 1TB )

so that i will get free sapce of 1.4TB

(i dont want to loose my data at all)

sure - no problem

just go into the GUI, right-click the fs and select properties and change the max size for a VP fs

for a non-VP fs just select the extend fs option

without data loss or interruption

Hi,

     I would agree with Peter .we will not be able to shrink an existing file system. The only option, at this time, is to create a new smaller file system of the desired size, and migrate the data from the larger file system to the new smaller file system. Once the migration is completed, the original file system can safely be deleted freeing up the space

Not sure about the question, but there is no shrink functionality of a fs.

If your fs is already 2.9 TB and you want to shrink it, you need to migrate your data to a smaller FS.

Hi,

if I understood you correctly you have a virtually provisioned file system with a max size of 2.9TB and only 1TB of it is used.

It now depends on what the current size of the file system is - just go Celerra Manager and right-click to look at the properties

what do the fields "Storage Capacity" and "Maximum Capacity" say ?
