Reconfiguring LUNs
Scenario- cx500 with 03 Solaris Hosts, RAID 1+0 Groups & RAID 5 Groups.
Requirement- There is now a requirement to introduce a fourth Solaris host & reconfigure disk space of 04 already existing LUNs by recreating them to suit customer needs.
Constrain- the on-line systems catering to the other two Solaris hosts should have no interruption to their operations.
Issue- Component LUNs of LUN groups can be removed & recreated as necessary. The issue which troubles me is whether a performance penalty, at least one that is noticable, would result from carrying out the above mentioned tasks. Further are their any other issues that I haven't foreseen, which others in the forum are aware of. Feedback on this regard is much appreciated.
