I have PowerPath Viewer installed on my local Windows 7 workstations and PPVE installed and licensed on my ESXi 4.1 update 2 hosts. My question is does PowerPath Viewer need to be running on my workstation for the email alerts to work?

Yes, if the functionality were added to run the path monitoring as a service on a server would make PowerPath Viewer much more useful to us.

I agree if the email alerting could be moved to a separate service, it would be very helpful. that would provide some additional reliability. thanks.
