This system has always taken a long time to fully boot, with slow performance after boot.

From the start of boot to the time that I can begin to interact with the desktop is over 5 minutes.

Application launches are also quite slow.

I've ran the plethora of Dell diags - no errors.

I've run disk cleanup.

I've performed a complete defrag.

I'm running Norton Security Online (from Xfinity) and have deep scanned the entire system - all clean.

Hard drive is a WD SATA 300, so the system and drive interfaces match design speeds.

System has a Core-i7-3520M CPU, 8GB RAM.

Drive has over 80% free space.

 

Any thoughts on what could be slowing my system down?
