Alienware 17R1 AlienRespawn Corrupted Environment, Impossible to create backup disk for system restore

Good afternoon!

I have Alienware 17R1 purchased new, laptop box was sealed and laptop was never used before. During 1 year of usage I have constantly received a message from AlienRespawn to make backup disk for system restore in case of needs to set computer back to factory state. However I ignored these messages as it required time, from the date of purchase I had installed license for KIS 2015 so computer was protected all times, I have never touched or modified disk partitions. But for today when I opened AlienRespawn I received a message that Environment have been corrupted, functions connected with creating backup disk for system restore (getting back to factory state) unavailable due to this issue. Even more all the functions of writing and creating backup system disk are grayed out. So I can't create a backup disk now. Also I never re-installed AlienRespawn to a newer versions and I never re-installed or deleted Dell pre-loaded software. Could you please say why I can't make system backup disk and AlienRespawn not detects the restore partition? In Computer Management  at Disk Management tab all partitions are healthy including the restore partitions. I would be very grateful to receive a reply! Thank you in advance for reply!

Hi,

Which version of Windows are you running with the system?

Hello, it is Windows 8.1 which come out of box. I have not re-installed the OS or upgraded to Windows 10.

Hi,

Unfortunately, the recovery partition could have gotten corrupted or deleted somehow. It may be best to reinstall Windows and after you are done installing all of the drivers and Alienware applications, install Alien Respawn. It will create another recovery partition in your hard drive.

Thank you! Could you please say might an update of Alien Respawn resolve this problem or not?

Hi,

No, updating Alien Respawn will not recover or fix the corrupted partition. Unfortunately, nothing can be done to restore it once the partition has been deleted or corrupted.
