FSX
Just purchased an Aurora Alienware, and went to install my FSX, and was giving me an error, however after downloading the software, it did not install correctly at all, went to deleate the program to re-install and did not let me .
Had to take the new computer to the Geek Squad, and they are telling me that they need to reload the computer to the new state level, considering that is a new computer out of the box, will not take much effort, however in the web I see a lot of issues with the FSX and Windows 10. Anyone out there can give me any insight as to what happened, did it load to the wrong Harddrive, SSD vs, regular? Or should I have them install Window 7, I had FSX in windows 7 in the other computer and ran fine. Please, please comment.

It is now where I bought it last week, Bestbuy geek squad , they told me they will install the FSX SOFTWARE which I provide them, but first they have to do a remove the FSX that I installed and did not work, could not remove by uninstall, they need to actually do a complete clean up and reinstall everything , luckily I had only installed the FSX. Hope they can do it, also I hope I don't have problems with addons. Such as third party pay ware aircraft.
The FSX Steam Edition is slightly different than the old version. I think it's your best hope (running on Windows-10/64bit of course).

Aurora R6 Desktop, with an "Intel Core i7" would be an Intel Kaby-Lake 7700 or 7700k processor .
It will not run Windows-7 properly after April 2017 (see link in my first post). No one that knows Windows scene would even suggest it, much less do it.

Thank you for the input. Since the people at Best Buy have it, I am going to see what they will do with the boxed FSX, if they can not get it to run right I will install the steam edition. Will let you know how all of this ends.

Hello!
We need to keep in touch! Are u here in the USA? I am in Houston, TX. Yes my computer is at BEST BUY, they are deleting the bad install and are installing FSX boxed, for me. It ran ok on my old PC, windows 7 64. But with Windows 10 could not install it correctly.

Far away! I should get back my new PC this Wednesday or sooner. I am planning to get another monitor so I can spread the cockpit views, you know if that works well?

Well got everything ready , I am going to change to PRD3. Did a lot of research , and I am changing since now I have the adequate hardware to handle it. They did restore my computer and did all the Windows 10 updates etc. Let you know how it goes. Will probably do it this weekend.
Regards

No, you don't want Window-7. Not only is it OLD (2 whole Windows versions behind ... Windows-10 has been out for almost 2 years now) ... if it is an Aurora R6 with a KabyLake processor, it's not going to run very well, very soon.

Sounds like a Windows-10 issue with a 10-year+ old game. Plenty of tips in Google. I would start with Compatibility Mode.
I thought someone said FSX Steam Edition ran ok on Windows-10.
