Wireless Network problems!!!
So just recently i have had to replace my hard-drive as it pooped itself (3 days after my warranty expired, lol). This meant i had to reinstall all the drivers and OS and windows etc. I tried doing it all from the discs i got when i purchased my 14x-R2 alienware laptop, however some of the discs didnt even work! So i went onto the Dell website, inputed my service tag which gave me a list of 14 drives i should install, and so i did. Now however im faced with a problem; i can't connect to the internet wireless-ly! I have went to Device Manager which tells me under the sub-heading; Network Controller (The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)). So at this stage im a little confused, so i did the reccomended systems diagnostics thing on the Dell website which took roughly an hour... Only for it to tell me i was missing a Driver, no indication as to what driver that may be or how i can go about accessing it!
So by now i'm getting tired of trying to solve this problem, but i keep fiddling around on the Dell website to try and find some indication of what drivers i may be missing; I eventually stumble across a system test i guess which comes up with 2 Drivers, 1 Chipset and 1 network (BigKiller) that are apparently uninstalled. So i install those, and yet the problem still exists. So i re-do the test incase i missed something somehow, and the same 2 drivers i just installed re-appear.
PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_0034&SUBSYS_20031A56&REV_01
PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_0034&SUBSYS_20031A56
PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_0034&CC_028000
PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_0034&CC_0280
those are the error codes by the way from the Device Manager, Network Controller, Details, Hardware ID's.
Right now i'm just very confused and losing hope that i'll ever get my laptop to work again, so ANY help getting this solved would be immensely welcomed. Oh and i can connect to the internet Directly through the ethernet cable, but not wirelessly.
