Dimension 9100 wake on lan?

Does the Dimension 9100 support wake on LAN? The Intel specs for the PRO 100/VE (which is onboard) say it does. I sent a wake on lan packet, but nothing happened. I figure, okay I need to enable it in the BIOS. But the BIOS has no mention of WOL anywhere.

at minimum you need to enable it in the network driver properties.  you can get the latest drivers for your card here:   http://downloadfinder.intel.com/scripts-df-external/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=&DwnldID=4275&ProductID=879   If you just want the drivers and not the ProSet software then use a tool like 7zip or winrar to extract the folder containing the drivers for base '100' cards. Okay, got that. But still not able to wake.

Can anyone verify they've actually done this with a 9100?

I see another message here for a 5150 that states none of the models in the Dimension family support WOL.

That would really blow, since the Pro 100 VE NIC does!

I can now answer my own question, but it only raises another. Here is the 9100 manual http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/dim9100/en/D86630LRs.pdf Page 112 states that 'remote wake up' via the NIC is possible.   However, my BIOS setup does not display this option. Everything else under the 'power management' section is there, but 'low power mode' and 'remote wake up' are not. I am running BIOS version A03. ???

I am experiencing the exact same problem as you. Option does not show up ni BIOS. Has anyone found a solution for this???? Please help!!!!!

The manual seems to be in error. See this response in another forum. http://forums.us.dell.com/supportforums/board/message?board.id=netwkint&message.id=7663 It seems the 945 chipset in the 9100 does not support WOL

Resurrecting this thread. I got this working about a year ago, but I only tried to wake from a Windows XP standby mode, not from poweroff. Since that time, however, I've (1) upgraded the BIOS to 1.03 (2) upgraded the CPU from Pentium 631 to Pentium D 950 Now I can't get this to work. Can anyone hazard a guess as to whether one of the two upgrades has rendered this box unable to wake from standby? Thanks.
