Dimension Gen 4 Video problem

Dell Gen4 3.6Ghz HT, 2G 533Mhz RAM, ATI Radeon 850XT PE
Audigy 2 sound card,160 Gig HD with NCQ.

My computer has been giving me an video card overheating warning when playing Far Cry.
I checked the 5 fans in system and they seem to be spinning. The fan on the video cards is spinning too.
I have the catalyst driver from the ATI site installed. Does anyone think the card may be overheating because I dont have the Dell OEM video drivers installed or is it more likely that a fan is working less than optimally? The comp is about 6 months old and this is the second video card installed in it. The first one blew after about 3 months. Thx for any suggestions.

Cardfan doesn't run fast enough to cool the card. Download and run the atitool. Problem solved.

Where can this Atitool be found? It doesnt seem to be listed on the ATI web site.

I did find this utility and I installed it. I set the fan control to dynamic. I hope this will fix problem. One more question if you dont mind. Why does the ATI 850 PE card need a helper program to control fan speed? Why doesnt the card and drivers control this function?
I hope this isnt bad quality control. Thx again

I got no clue why the card doesn't cool itself better. There has been a lot of discussion on this topic, I am sure if you do a search on this board you will be able to find more answers.

Btw, I have my fan set something like this:

0% - 5c
30% - 31c
47% - 47c
76% - 52c
100% - 60c

This works fine for me but I also installed a new cardfan. I don't think it was necassary but I did it before I found the atitool.
