My cpu is a QX6700 running at 3.2ghz and it's running on a stock heatsink/cooler, not the H2C. Personally, I think the H2C is just a gimmick. Just one more thing they can charge you for and make you think you're benefiting from it when you really aren't. If you've been thinking about buying one, don't. You'll just be wasting your money on something that doesn't do much more than look cool in your case. Spend the money on a new video card or something else that you will notice a performance increase.

I just brought new H2C kit from ebay ($265) for my XPS 720 fan cooling version. I can see improvement in CPU cooling (35 degree under idle cond. now, it was 40-45 degree with CPU fan, can't remember exact numbers)... Yeah, it looks much better for the system, does it really worth $265? ... only you can tell.

Hello we have the almost same PC only I have the GTX 280 OC version. I also have the h2c cooler I cant seem to get the cpu past 3.3 OC I have the QX6850. The h2c come oc @3.67 I don't get it I thought the cooler would help me reach the oc I wanted.

H2C cooler temp avg. 49 c @3.3 OC

 I thought I would be much cooler than that

That is the only stable OC I could do with out getting the BSOD

I had the QX6700 fan cooled running stable @ 3.2

The key might be in what revision is your motherboard. Do you have CPU-z? that will report the revision number. Alot have found that that the QX6850's seem to run better on the A01 revision motherboard.

:smileysad:  More than likely the issue. What ever small change(or large who would know) seems to allow the QX6850s to run at 3.7 with no issues. This is also backed up by posts at RampantSpeculation.com too

DELL replaced my MOBO a month ago and the memory was the problem so I am not to happy now I will get my MOBO back!! Thanks for the help!!

My mobois A00 0P611C (Chipset nForce 680i SLI SPP Rev. A2), and the QX6850 can OC and stable at 4GHz... If DELL's BIOS can support higher than 4GHz, i'll try for 4.33GHz...

 

I did try 4.3GHz before, no luck, no post...!!!
