IEEE 1394 Firewire
I recently purchased a digital camcorder with IEEE 1394 (DV in/out) connectivity. Does my computer already have the necessary hardware installed or do I need to purchase a IEEE 1394 PCI card to connect my camcorder to my PC?

Don't Know. You didin't state what model PC you have. There are many different Dell models and configurations and without knowing exactly what you have, no one can tell you. Your PC Model number and Operating System should be on any initial problem post - it does make a difference.
One thing you can do is to download the Belarc advisor and run it. It will profile your hardware and software. www.belarc.com
