D410 Windows 7 battery problem
I recently upgraded my D410 to Windows 7. The problem I am having is that the laptop shuts down without warning after about 30 minutes of use.
The battery is about six months old. Prior to the upgrade I was getting normal life, anywhere from 2-3 hours depending on what I was doing. Every thing seems pretty normal at first, the meter starts with 99% power remaining and estimated life of 3+ hours and runs down normally. After about 30-40 minutes, the battery meter is showing 70% charge and estimated time left 2+ hours. Somewhere around 65%, the laptop abruptly dies without warning. The led meter on the battery still shows three lights, so I don't think the battery is really the problem.
Short of switching back to XP, any thoughts?

Assuming a pattern that repeats itself over and over again, what happens if you load for instance UBUNTU? No need to reformat or anything, see link.
If the pattern doesn't disappear it's a freak occurrence whil changing to Windows 7 and more hardware related.
Take the battery to a similar laptop and do the same test - if it repeats it's probably a single cell that can't produce the current it should supply.
