Dell Customer Service stinks!
Why is Dell Customer Service so poor? Can anyone help me bypass the reduntant firewall that their customer service creates? They keep sending me in circles. I can not get a supervisor with any real authority. Do they really want another legal suit like the one they lost recently in New York?

This is a user to user forum which means that we do not work for Dell. Users help users here.
Therefore, there is nothing that we can do for you to help you get through the "firewall" though I do empathize with you.
As for threatening a legal suit, that violate the terms of use that you agreed to abide by when signing up to post on this forum.

Are you referring to Customer Service or Technical Support?
Have you tried using the on-line chat? You will then receive an email with written documentation of your session. You can also escalate the session to a supervisor. I have found this to be more effective than calling.

We should have a new rule at these forums.
When a poster threatens legal action. We should ignore it. If you want to sue, then sue, but don't start that garbage that you will sue unless Dell does what you want.
Remember folks we only hear one side of the story here on these forums and I can tell you with 100% certainty that the story is always skewed towards the poster either being the "tough guy", if necessary, or the "victim" when applicable.
Any poster that starts with, "I am a consultant," or; "I have worked on computers for X amount of years," and then starts their diatribe, we should ignore it. People, it does not matter to most posters that you have experience in computers, and if you do why are you on these forums asking for help?????

I agree! Here is my fun experience with Dell:
I had placed an order using a coupon code I got because I had just purchased a computer from Dell. I got an email saying that PayPal was not accepting the order for some reason. I have never had a problem with my PayPal account. I called and left a message along with all of my information. I never got a call back so I called today 6/18/08. After being transferred at least 15 times to various people I was told that this order would never go through because the coupon was for $25 and the item was $24.99 and that I should cancel it. I did so and wanted my coupon code so I could make a different purchase. I did and then went to make another purchase using the coupon code. The web site said the coupon code had been used. I called Dell back again and tried to speak with at least 3 more people and get my coupon code back. I even got one customer service person who argued with me and would not let me speak with a manager when I asked to do so. This is NOT good customer service! I want the use of my coupon code back or another one issued. I am highly unsatisfied with the lack of service and people not being able to help me. I am a computer consultant and often get asked by customers what type of computer they should buy. If this is the way Dell thinks they are helping their customers they are very wrong. I will report this to the better business bureau and will NEVER recommend or buy from Dell again unless this is resolved by issuing me a $25 coupon. I will have my customers buy from HP that only offers U.S. Support.
