HELP - NEED TO PUT UNBROKEN KEY BACK ON

Just come to my beloved INSPIRON 640m and 'someone' had knocked off my TAB key. After trying to get it back on for the last hour and googling every option possible to try and find how these go back on I'm about to scream!! Please can someone tell me how they go back on?

Here's what I'm looking at:  On the keyboard still is the rubber 'nipple' in the middle and a few metal hooks surrounding it. Then on the back of the TAB key is a metal 'staple' looking bit where the two prongs stick out and then in the middle are 2 white plastic parts.

I have tried hooking it pressing it but I just cant work it out! Are there any hero's out there that can help a damsel in distress???

Hello and good morning!

I can definitely relate as I dropped a book on the KB and "popped 3 keys."  I have a Latitude so they MAY be similar.  There is a white plastic square piece which is inserted first.   It has to be inserted at an angle which will hook the small tabs into place then the other side will snap into place if installed correctly.  The key will then lock on top and also should be angled when installing.  If the key does not feel as responsive as the others then you may have the plastic piece backwards or it has not locked correctly.

Never give up and it also took me quite some time to finally install the key.
