Inspiron 6000 Overheating Problem, help please!!!!

Hi there, I've had my Inspiron 6000 for just over a year and a half. It has been quite hot for a while so I got my friend who is good with computers to try and help. He installed I8kfanGUI and my computer now shows a fairly constant temp in the 70s (celcius) Today it has peaked at 78 degrees. Does anyone know what can be done about this? The fans are constantly on high and really annoying! Also when I play DVDs, they go all stuttery above 70 degrees. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks a lot xx

    You need more serious help than you may get here.  The Inspiron 6000 wasn’t designed to run over 65° C.  Internal temps running into the seventies gets near safety hazard territory.  Call tech support on this and say you have a safety hazard issue.  Those are words that ought to get their attention.

    Also, HAVE you checked your battery to see whether it was part of the Sony battery recall?  If not, please go to http://www.dellbatteryprogram.com/ and follow the instructions there.
