I have owned an Inspiron 9400 for around 18 months or so. When I first got the machine the Intel PROset Wireless connection would appear on the tray upon starting the machine. Would be green with a good connection, white with no conectivity and so on. I know many ppl do not like this utility but I do. Recently the icon does not 'automaticilly' appear in the tray. If I start the application manually it tells me that another utility is managing my wireless network. In the advanced menu of Intel Proset I have an item - use intel proset to manage wireless networks.  If I choose this, the network connection appears in the utility and it says connected. However, it does not appear in the system tray as it used to. I have to go to Tools/Application settings, where the tick is already in the box marked 'show application icon in system tray'. As soon as I open this menu i.e. Tools/Application settings, the icon immediately appears as it should - and as it always had before on system startup. However, when  the system is restarted I have to go through the whole business again to get the icon in the system tray. What settings might I have (inadvertantly) altered to prevent IntelPROset Wireless from starting by default and appearing in the tray? Any help would be most appreciated. Thanks in advance.
