Latitude power plug
Someone gave me a Latitude D505. They set on the power cord and broke the plug(the part where the cord plugs into the laptop. Do I have to send it in to get it fixed or can I fix it myself? Any help would be great!

Everything seems to work just fine. I am actually using it to post right now. Only thing that is wrong is I have to change the battery every 2-3 hours. There is errors in the EventLog and no random glitch.

It's generally not a home repair unless you've the tools and expertise to do board-level soldering.
Whether it's repairable at all depends on the level of damage - if it's just the jack itself that has detached, a good soldering expert can replace it - cost should run $150-200 or so. If the board underneath is damaged, you'll need a replacement mainboard.
