Problem with Vostro 1500 video?
Hi there: I have a new Vostro 1500 with the 256megs nVidia card 8600M GT card - I have formatted and installed Windows Vista Ultimate and downloaded the latest video driver from Dell - now it shows up with yellow blotchs and pixelization. I have done the following things: a) Reinstalled drivers from CD and from website - no change b) Reformatted computer - no change Anyone else having this issue? Thanks! [8F] The NyQuil Kid

EDIT: This forums should allow for posting of pics - this would clarify what I am describing.
EDIT: Possible solution: http://www.ideastorm.com/article/show/73494/Fix_the_nVidia_8600M8400M_GS_driver_so_it_will_install_on_retail_versions_of_Vista It appears that the driver provided by dell is "tweaked" in some way to work with their OEM version of Vista (Basic in my case) - when you install a retail version of Vista, the drivers will not operate properly. I read that Dell has an internal bulletin concerning the nVidia 8600 GM card and how it should be replaced - I inquired with Dell and they sent a replacement - it is now working properly with Aero enabled. So if anyone is having an issue with the nVidia chips and seeing artifacts, etc....chat or call Dell, mention that there is an internal bulletin regarding replacing the graphics chipset.
