Replacing LCD Screen

Hello,

I am attempting to replace my LCD screen. What specifications need to match when I am selecting the new one?

Thanks.

Ideally, you want the exact same panel you have now.

Next best:  a different model known to have shipped with the system you have.  In this case BE SURE you get the inverter and data cable for the panel you buy - the originals may not fit it.

So if I get another WXGA 15.4" panel for the Inspiron 6000, it should work fine?

Yes, with the caveat above - if it's a different make/model (say a Samsung screen to replace a Chi Mei), you need the inverter and data cable to go with it.
