System Restore not making System CK Points

Have i9300 and just noticed that my System Restore is not making any automatic System Check Points.... zip, none at all!!!    I can manually make a System Restore point but was quite surprised to see that I had NO System Restore points.  Usually, the system makes automatic System Check Points.  And YES, it IS checked to do so, and even shows that it is monitoring the hard drive.   Wonder if perhaps Windows Updates has anything to do with this problem?  Anyway else have similar problem or heard of this happening?   Thanks in advance for any light on this.

suggest you try this to fix the problem:

    Go to the following path:

    %windir%\inf\

and right click on the sr.inf file there and choose "install"...

It will ask you for you XP CD so put it in and see if that repairs your system restore!

YEP... working fine.   Had used DELL chat several times trying to correct this problem and best I could get from them was to do a COMPLETE RE-INSTALLlATION OF the OS.    Bacilllus, you're a true life-saver.  This was a simple fix and easy.  Think I'll call on you next time I have any questions.   :-)    Have a nice day, and thanks again!!!
