2005 FPW and light leakage

Well, I finally ordered and recieved my 2005fpw and it's pretty, but it does have some dead pixels and light leakage that so many have talked about. What I noticed that has not been posted here to my knowledge is that the corners where white light is showing through seem to be detatched a bit from the monitor frame. If you tap gently on the corner the screen moves in a tiny bit and the light gets even brighter. I noticed this when wiping the screen off with a cloth. I'm wondering if it's a shipping problem, being that the monitor screen is at the bottom of the box and only supported around its' edges? Or possible as the monitor warms up with use the plastic could expand a bit and let loose of the screen glass? It's worth looking into Dell.

I'm awaiting the shipment of my replacement anxiously because other than this flaw it seems to be one heck of a display.

Your not the only one that has noticed this.I had the same thing on mine.I didnt opt for the exchange but refund.going to get the 2405 when it gets a good price.I personaly think its mounting problem with the glue or substance they use at factory.but thats my thoughts, funny how it moves like it does and no leakage on sides that dont..My 4 year old laptop is rock solid like day one...Do urself a favor get a refund and wait for the 2405 to go on sale.Ive only heard a few bad things and most minor.and best of all its a samsung panel!

I don't have a chance of affording the big one even on sale so I'm sticking with the 2005. I hope...

I bought the FP1704 and also get light leakage on the corners. But only noticeable when the

screen is totally black.

I also have an old TFT, and it has light leakage, but not on the corners, but  on the L and R edges.

I guess leakages are normal in these monitors.

Its not a (normal) thing for flat panels, just a problem dell has with manufacturing.Ive had alot of other dell and non dell flats and none have this backlight leakage.
