hi, are you adding new storage nodes to existing tape library in networker? what method you used? GUI or jbconfig from command line? please attach full error message...
adding a SN is not very straight forward. I always use jbconfig to add new SN. Also, have you done proper zoning frm SN to tape drives? Are they dedicated or shared?..these are the key points to be addressed... it takes quite a detailed planning and usually it's not a straight forward way adding SN if you are unsure of existing setup.....
this is going to be tricky then as i never set up the original setup.
we have backup PowerVault with 3 tape drives.
so when added successfully, when we add the client name in storage nodes box, it will use the rd=device for that node (even though it is still using the tape drives attached to the backup server)
so i "think" they should be shared.
it will then backup through the fibre san instead on network.
i am not too technical and didn't setup the backups or the original storage nodes.
If these drives are shared (DDS) then jbedit will work fine. You just have to pay attention to hw-id and order of devices. If it doesn't work for you, then do jbconfig - it is simple. You could do it via GUI, but I usually avoid GUI for that purpose so I can't comment how easy it is (some people say that it is very easy).

then tried to run a backup.
it failed and the tape stuck in the drive.
when tried to use configuration wizard on the devices i get a error message when stating which drives should be shared
what is the correct procedure for adding 2 storage nodes?
i need to ensure i am doing it the official way. if i go through the wizard, from scratch, the 2 nodes with storage stoftware installed don't show up.

basically we have a san which 2 storage nodes were removed from, now we want to re-add 2 others in to make use of the increased speed.
i'm not too technical on legato though (7.2)
i am really going to need step by step instructions, the storage node software has been installed on the 2 servers, what should i do next?
